How To Be An Explorer

Their minds are always wandering and seeing possibilities that adults can’t understand. They are constant explorers of the world around them.
A curious mind is a creative mind.
Here’s how to foster that curiosity:

Good list. I would add: ‘love/embrace the unknown’ and ‘play relentlessly’ and ‘don’t do it for yourself but for ideas’
Nietzsche said : In every real man a child is hidden that wants to play.
Laurent,
Those are some good ones to add. I especially like “play relentlessly”. I think that a lot of us forget that this is fun. Trying to take a little joy in everyday “play” moments is key to keeping your mind open for creativity.
I like that. A lot. Curiosity is one of the greatest traits anyone can possess.

Definitely fun (not all the time though as i would like it to be). I read a book a while ago on “breakthrough thinking” and the “cognitive snap” which is when an idea pops up often at our own surprise. Also read an article about how sleep helps with creativity. Nevertheless, I think ideas come to us “when they want”…we create the conditions by having the right frame of mind, as described in your list, but we can’t force it. As Freud said, the expression “an idea comes to my mind” illustrate the facts that ideas just come and visit us if we make them feel welcome ;-)
