Monday Night Football
Posted on September 23, 2008 - Filed Under Inspiration
I was watching Monday Night Football last night and it made me think of this Nike ad from a year ago. Let’s just say, this is what happens when you let the director of Bad Boys II direct a football commercial.
The commercial features Shawne Merriman (San Diego Chargers) and Steven Jackson (St. Louis Rams). The music is the song “Promentory” from The Last of the Mohicans. The ad is like a 60-second hit of adrenaline. Who wants to play some sports?

Sports are stupid.
i’m not a stick ‘n ball guy, but that spot was pretty cool. nice choice on the song too. if football games were shot like this, i’d probably watch more.
@ Chris
Stupid like your face.

That’s what happens with Michael Mann directs a TV spot. It’d be awesome to see him direct a live sportscast.
Hi Christian,
Love the blog and this spot. It was - by far - one of my favorite spots of 2007. Being someone who loves the NFL, nothing has got me more pumped up about football (or a brand).
Wanted to share the next one from W+K (came out a few weeks ago) in case you hadn’t seen it.
Here’s the YouTube link!

Thanks Tyler! Yeah, the new spot is crazy. It makes me want to run the hallways with a football dodging people.
