Think About It

Here are some statistics that will blow your mind:

1. Nike launches a new sneaker every seven hours.

2. Coke puts out a new product every 21 days in Japan alone.

3. Grand Theft Auto IV took in $500 million globally in its first week.

4. Hillary Clinton has spent $157,384,855 in an attempt to become president.

The scale of everything is growing exponentially.

Or how about that the average Wii lasts 1 hr on the shelf in the US.

    1. I don’t believe the Nike stat. It could be a variation of a style but not a new shoe.

    3. Globally is the key word. You have to accept the fact that GTA is pop culture.

    4. Hilary and her Pant Suits – $157,384,855. Are you serious?

I agree with the first one being a little off…maybe its the colour scheme that’s original. Plus nike rocks my socks and so besides sweat shops, it could never go wrong.

As for the Hilary. Thats seriously effed up. Do you know what $157,384,855 could buy? Hows about anti-retro viral drugs (the generic kind) for anywhere from 524 616 to 3 147 697 people in the developing world dying from HIV/AIDS. That donation alone would DOUBLE the amount of people receiving these drugs…maybe she should take this up with Bill.

    COULD double.

    sorry…gotta cover my ass.

    @ Paul,

That’s crazy! I’m amazed that they’re still having trouble meeting demand over a year after it launched. That’s fantastic momentum.

    @ Sunny,

Hahaha.. believe what you want. The point is for these statistics to shock you and to get you thinking.

Interesting point about the Clintons. I was watching The Hour the other night and President of Doctors w/o Borders was there. He made an interesting statement, where he said he didn’t believe the Clinton hype. So many of the atrocities that Medicine Sans Frontiers dealt with happened during the Clinton regime, and the US didn’t help (Rawanda, Somalia, Darfur etc).

Now Bill thinks he can become a human rights/environmental activist? BS! When he was in the ultimate position of power, he did nothing for those causes.

    Sorry… different subject.
